This was my last selfie with my beloved Baba December 24th 2022.
Her stories will live on forever, passed down through me to my children and then on to theirs.
As I grow older I can look back at our long talks. While I didn’t always understand in the moment, the wisdom she was sharing has helped me tremendously through life. Any time I feel self doubt I think WWBD (what would Baba do) and I find the courage to continue. She will be missed more than any words can say.
On behalf of the Lloyd branch of the family tree please know we love you and miss you so much already.

When I first met Winnie, (at Adam and Jeni's) I remember asking how old she was - she was in her 90's at the time, and I thought at best, she might be in her early 70's. She was such a force to be reckoned with and I was always pleased if she was going to be at any gathering that I attended, as I thought she was a remarkable person. I am so sorry to hear of her passing - I thought she was just the best!

Mrs. Walduda…Mom. Made the best perogies in all of Canada , the Ukraine and beyond!!! I was fortunate enough to call Kim , one of my Besties, as we grew up in Rosthern together. You were the matriarch of our family and you will be forever loved and missed by everyone who had the pleasure of having you in their life.
I for one will never forget all the summers spent with you, the stories you told us, the wisdom you passed onto all of us.
The smile you had the last time Tyler and I got to see you means everything to us.
We love you Buba!! I am so glad our girls had the years they had with you too. 5 generations doesn’t happen very often.
Q: What was Winnie's favorite recipe?
A: My Baba was one of the Best Ukrainian Cooks around. She made the most delicious Pedaheh (Perogys) around. I know I cherish her recipe and will always think of her when making my own. She was a hard worker at home, between feeding everyone, to gardening, her garden was huge, and doing laundry,cleaning house,and keeping us grandkids and daughters in-line.I know myself I will miss her so very much, it’s still so hard to comprehend that she’s gone. I love you Baba.

Babas Perogys
7 c. Flour
1 c. Cream
2 c. hot water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
4tbsps melted butter
Make whatever filling you’d like for them.
This recipe has never failed me once. Hope you try it for yourself.
