I may not have known Darren for very long, but he was an amazing teacher to my peers and I. He was a good friend to us all, always willing to lend a hand when one of us was struggling. I will never forget the day I mistakenly said I was Morgan years old in Cree in response to one of his questions! My condolences to all of his friends and family.

My condolences to his family and friends; he touched the hearts of many who walked along with him on his journey. Knowing him, he is probably talking Cree to the Creator and telling about his journey here with us. He left us with memories of laughter and a love for being Cree. In the Spirit of Friendship,…ekosani, miigwech

Like everyone else that ever met Darren, I knew him as a fun-loving, happy man. I’m sure he had his struggles, but he was always cheerful, positive and happy when I saw him. I couldn’t believe the news when I heard of his passing… I had just seen him a few weeks before. I will miss his smile, his cheeky comments, and his effervescent love. My deepest condolences to the family. However much we loved him, I know you loved him more ♡
