Art was a cousin only 4 months older than me (Earl).We did lots of things together, and got into mischief. One Christmas I got a BB gun. Then as we all got together at grandparents place, Art & I went out to do some target practice. Not on the most conventional targets. Boys will be boys, and our parents never found out what we did. In the early country school years Art and I would exasperate the teachers, then all she would have say was, Art, Earl and we knew which corner in the classroom to go kneel. Maybe there would be a few kernels of wheat on the floor to emphasize the punishment.
Art and I did custom square baling together when we were 15 and 16 years old. We worked very hard and got to know each other very well.
Art and I (Earl) both got older, married, had families, but we kept in touch through the years. Have many more good memories.
