My condolences to the family of Leonard Baun. When I saw that Leonard had passed away, a powerful memory surfaced which I wanted to share. My father, Mike Burlack, and Leonard, worked together for the RM of Rosthern for years. On a hot summer day while building roads, my dad was accidentally drawn into the huge machine that lifted earth (we called it a BGee). It was Leonard's quick thinking and immediate action that saved my father's life. He was a second away from being mangled by the machine. Leonard was an unsung HERO who saved my father's life. While Leonard and my dad were co-workers, they were also friends. I remember many happy occasions with Leonard and Tena. He was so proud of the birth of his children. I will never forget the gift Leonard gave me by saving my father's life that summer day. The family should know what a special man he was for me and so many others.
