January 27, 1926 - October 19, 2024
98 Years
Dad was born on January 27, 1926, in the Riverhills district, near Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan to Karl and Suzanna (Neufeld) Windels.
Dad was a dedicated, conscientious worker, mastering the many trades he turned his hand to. He was a quiet man who worked hard to provide for his family and built up a mixed farm from nothing. We know the long hours he put in and are so grateful to him for his example of hard work, honesty, and integrity we saw in his daily life. He was always there for family and neighbours in times of need whether it was raising a barn or digging a grave. His grandchildren mentioned these things as well noting how hard he worked and the number of things he did besides running the farm. “Crazy” was their thought. Also, in their experience he was the strong silent type that got his point across sternly, but gently. Dad loved his family, showing much concern during any illnesses or hard times.
His love of music was obvious, if Stan was home you would often walk into the house hearing Dad on the harmonica, and Stan on the piano. We miss that!
Henry is survived by his family: children, Dennis (Dianne) Windels, Jesse, Lee and Mason; Sheila Lehmann, Kim Lehmann, Dawna (Lorne) Flath, Lisa (Brandon) Martin, Chris (Carrie) Lehmann; Stan (Pat) Windels; Adele Windels; Don (Bonnie) Windels, Tiffany Klassen, Nathan (Leah) Windels, Steven (Nikki) Windels; Kevin (Sharon) Windels, Cal (Chelsey) Windels, Mercedes Windels; 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; 5 step-grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren and 1 sister, Mildred Ens.
