November 22, 1930 - November 9, 2024
93 Years
Clara Florentina Rudolph passed into the care of God on November 9, 2024, at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon.
Clara was born to Eva and Ludwig Rode on November 22, 1930, the youngest of six children.
She grew up on the home farm 12 miles southwest of Rosthern, and went to Heidelberg school, concluding her education by correspondence. Her earliest memory was of kneeling with her mother every bedtime, saying a prayer and singing a short German song. Growing up in the nineteen thirties depression molded her character and gave her strength that carried her through life’s challenges.
Clara was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Rosthern. Her faith was always very important to her, and demonstrating this in all aspects of her life.
She married Herman Rudolph on September 28, 1949. Together, they raised three children on a dairy farm west of Rosthern. She told stories of getting up before six, milking cows and slinging hay bales. Hard work was always on the menu. After retirement, they moved to Rosthern for a more relaxing lifestyle. In 2013, Clara moved to the Maple Gove condo where she developed many friendships that enriched her life.
As a girl, Clara loved track and field sports and playing 1st base on the school softball team. Later, she and Herman loved dancing, especially Viennese waltzes. She loved reading and playing Scrabble and other games with her friends and family, playing jokes, and wearing costumes for holidays while delivering treats to friends. She was a lifelong learner, often sharing her new found knowledge with her family.
Clara was predeceased by her husband Herman, all her sisters, and her brother.
She is survived by her three children: Randy (Jo), Lorna (Ted), and Anthony (Bonnie); five grandchildren (Daniel, Sarah, Lisa, Andy, and Duncan); four great grandchildren (Colton, Alex, Ivy and Delta); and one great-great granddaughter (Charlotte); nieces Charlene and Nancy; nephew Kim; and a community of friends and extended family members.
