78 Years
Roderick (Rick) Keith Boldt, age 78 years, passed away November 8, 2024, in Preston Park Retirement Residence, Saskatoon, SK after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s disease. Rick was predeceased by his wife Dr. Carla Eisenhauer. He is survived by his brothers Gale Boldt and wife Janice, Alf Boldt and wife Joan, and their children Jennifer and Jeffrey as well as Carla’s siblings Elizabeth, Mary, Stephen, and Valerie Eisenhauer and their families. The family is very grateful for the excellent care provided to Rick by the staff at Preston Park and the community palliative team.
Rick was an accomplished accountant and those skills and sharp brain served him well at the bridge table. His father was very proud of Rick’s educational endeavors and drove him to university each morning for classes, not realizing he was contributing to another degree, Masters in Bridge. When dad found out, the rides stopped. Rick was well known in and around Saskatoon as an excellent bridge player earning him respect and many lifelong friends. His wit was a hallmark of his personality.
Rick found a bridge and life soulmate in Carla Eisenhauer, a Saskatoon family physician. Together they designed and built a beautiful family home overlooking the South Saskatchewan River filled with family, friends, good food, and many rescue dogs. Carla’s untimely death in 2010 was a lasting sorrow for Rick and both families.
When Rick and Carla married, Rick found a second loving family in the Eisenhauer extended family.
Rick’s ashes will be sent to be with Carla and others to a secret place they both loved at Waskesiu Lake. No ceremony is planned. We think Rick would appreciate friends getting together to share stories or maybe have a game of bridge.
