January 3, 1952 - December 3, 2024
72 Years
George Janzen went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of December 3rd, surrounded by his wife and children after a short battle with cancer.
George was born on January 3, 1952, to Issac and Mary Janzen. George grew up on the family farm near Blumenthal.
George met the love of his life, Sarah Hamm in the fall of 1969 and got married on July 1, 1972. Together they were blessed with 5 children, Leona (Ron) Neufeld, Audrey (David) Lozinski, Jackie (Shane) Markentin, Debbie (Greg) Wall, and Wendell (Crystal) Janzen; 16 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
In 1976, George and Sarah bought a dairy farm near Hague, SK and together they ran the dairy for over 30 years. After selling the cows and quota, they continued to farm on the homestead until they sold in 2013. Together they built a new acreage by the river in 2014 where they continued running the liquid manure business that they had started in 2011. He retired from the business in the spring of 2024, and from farming in the fall of this year.
George was a very hard worker, and he was passionate in what he did. He especially loved the last 12 years working side by side with his son, Wendell and co workers that turned into friends. He enjoyed all the family outings, especially the ones that involved fishing. George was a man with few words, a big heart of gold and had a very strong faith in Jesus Christ that showed in his everyday life.
Together George and Sarah shared life’s joys and sorrows for 52 years.
George was predeceased by his parents, Issac and Mary Janzen; brother Jake Janzen; son-in-law Cory Goertzen; parents-in-law; and several-in-laws.
Dad, you will be dearly missed.
