Sheila Willms

Obituary of Sheila Willms

September 8, 1954 – July 19, 2013 After many long and courageous battles, Sheila May Willms went to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Sheila was born in Saskatoon and began school at Mayfair Elementary. She continued there until grade four when the family moved to Waldheim and she finished her education at the school there. While in school, Sheila truly enjoyed track and field; she seemed a natural athlete and could run like the wind! Even as a child Sheila had tremendous social skills and people were naturally drawn to her smiles and bubbly personality. She began her family at an early age, first with Melanie, next Devin and a few years later along came Raquel. This proved to be a good thing as she had time to enjoy life with the six grandchildren with whom she was blessed. Sheila loved and adored each and every one of the grandkids, speaking of them often and fondly. Sheila met the love of her life in 1997 and finally in 2007 they were married! Gary and Sheila enjoyed many long distance trips together, seeing the sights, viewing the beauty of our earth and enjoying time with each other. Sheila always tried to remain busy and cheerful, through her flowers, cooking and entertaining and did just that until her last admission to hospital. Sheila leaves to mourn her loving husband Gary; her father Gordon Dyck; daughters Melanie and Raquel; son Devin; grandchildren Hannah, Bryce, Kristan, Charity, Jocelyn and Curtis; sister Sharon (Dennis); brother Doug; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends and loved ones. Sheila was predeceased by her mom Kay in 1994, grandparents Sarah & Jacob Braun and Jacob Dyck. The celebration of Sheila’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at the Zoar Mennonite Church, Waldheim, SK with Rev. Benno Klassen officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 1-2217 Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8. Interment will take place at Silberfeld Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK (306-232-5245, http://www.funksfuneralhome.ca)
