Obituary of Peter Neufeld

October 26, 1935 – February 15, 2015 Peter Neufeld passed away peacefully the evening of Sunday, February 15, 2015 with his entire family at his side. Pete was born October 26, 1935 at Hague, SK. In 1937 the family moved to Swan Plain, SK and returned back to Hague in 1943. Pete grew up on the farm and worked closely with his Dad, Klass Neufeld. He started moving buildings at the age of 15 alongside his Dad who formed Neufeld Building Movers in 1951, and this is when he discovered his career choice and passion for moving buildings and took over the business in 1959. In 1962 he married his best friend and the love of his life, Tina Miller and they made their home in Hague, SK. This union was then blessed with two beautiful children, their daughter Wendy and son Kerry. Pete had many loves in his life, camping with family and friends, fishing, watching hockey, visiting with people, curling, playing cards, going for coffee at the local coffee shop, but the biggest love in his life was his family. He will be missed by his loving wife, Tina; their two children, daughter Wendy (Dwayne) Derksen; son Kerry (Sher) Neufeld; and his beloved grandchildren Stephan, Shaun, Shantel; Jordyn, Matthew; sisters, Mary Eichendorf, Nettie Isaacs (Ben Wiebe); Gertrude Fehr; Eva (Peter) Fehr; sister-in-law Susan Neufeld; brothers Cornie (Eileen) Neufeld, John (Doreen) Neufeld, and David (Mary) Neufeld. He was predeceased by his parents, Klass and Agatha Neufeld, brother Abe Neufeld, brother Nicky, and one infant sister Agatha. A viewing will be held at Funk’s Funeral Home at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 18, 2015. A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. at Grace Mennonite Church, Neuanlage, SK with Rev. Henry Janzen officiating.
