Obituary of Ben McKay

May 8, 1937 – February 13, 2015 Gilbert Ben McKay passed away peacefully at Lakeview Pioneer Lodge, Wakaw, SK on February 13, 2015 at the age of 77 years. He was born May 8, 1937 in Glen Mary, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his wife Phyllis; children: Judy (Gary) Neufeld, Don (Sandy) Weir, Maureen (Eugene) Baldhead, Barb (Trevor) Lucas, Rick (Lisa) Thomas, Charlotte Thomas, Andrew (Angie) Thomas, Shelly (Leslie) Matchap, Julie (Craig) Matchap, Lyle (Blair) Thomas; 30 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends. Ben was predeceased by his: father, Gilbert Osburn McKay; mother, Isabella McKay; daughter, Marcy Moisan; son, Tim Bellamy; brothers-in-law, Michael, Edward, Francis, Jeremy, Andrew, Gilbert; sisters-in-law: Ernestine and Mary. Wake Services starting February 15 – 17, 2015. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Phong Tran on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. All services will be held at One Arrow Community Hall, One Arrow First Nation, SK. Interment will take place in One Arrow Cemetery, SK. Arrangements are in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK.
