Obituary of Susan Driediger
April 3, 1928 – January 17, 2020 We sadly announce the passing of Susan Driediger on January 17, 2020. She died peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Mennonite Nursing Home in Rosthern. She was 91 years old. Sue was born on April 3, 1928 in Drake, SK where she lived her whole life until moving to the Mennonite Nursing Home complex in 2014. She was a hard-working, supporting homemaker who devoted herself to maintaining a busy household, a large garden, and a home to welcome many guests. She was an active member of North Star Mennonite Church in Drake and enjoyed participating in community events. Sue was undergirded by her strong faith in Jesus and she diligently tried to follow His leading throughout her life. Family was of utmost importance to Sue. She loved each one to the core – a love which she showed through support and compassion. Sue leaves to mourn her children Carrie (Ron) McDonald, Ric (Theresa) Driediger, Merry (Andrew) MacMath, Pat (Peter) Hoemsen, and Gayle (Herman) Warkentin, 13 grandchildren and their spouses, and 11 great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her siblings Peter (Irma) Bergen, John (Martha) Bergen, and Laura (Alden) Entz, and in-laws Walter Driediger, Arnold (Vivian) Neufeldt, Dorothy Driediger, and Arthur Driediger. Sue was predeceased by her husband Jake in 2019, her parents John and Mary Bergen, her sister Katie, and her son-in-law Phil Hart. Her funeral will take place on Thursday, January 23 at 2:00pm at North Star Mennonite Church, Drake SK. A family graveside interment service will take place in the morning. The family is grateful to Rosthern Mennonite Nursing Home staff for their loving care of Sue during the past 5 ½ years. Thank you also to Funk’s Funeral Home for the kind attention to arrangements.
