Obituary of Peter Guigon
Pierre “Peter” Guigon April 1, 1949 – January 1, 2019 Peter Francois Guigon was born in Prince Albert, SK to Joseph and Irene Guigon on April 1, 1949. They resided in Bellevue until 1965 when they purchased the brand new second-hand farm in Duck Lake. At that time he went to school at Stobart until he met Lorraine (Guigon) Toutant. The two got married and moved away to Valprasso, Saskatchewan where he worked for a farmer until the fall. Then they decided to move to Edmonton, Alberta where he started his career as a truck driver and raced cars as a hobby. He drove for many different companies. In March of 1975 they moved back to Duck Lake where they made their family home and took over the family farm. Their children were Chadwick Pierre born September 17, 1971 who suddenly passed away February 10, 1972, Cindy Lynn born June 27, 1973, Sandra Lee born February 15, 1975, and Henri Joseph born November 4, 1980. In February 1992 Peter and Lorraine went their separate ways. Peter never did re-marry, he loved to explore his options. Peter enjoyed his time working and building in the farm; the pig barn he built was a huge accomplishment for him. He put his heart and soul into everything he did – including “Peter’s Pork Products”. He made his basement into a government-inspected cut and wrap where he made, cut and wrapped the amazing assorted sausages and his famous Honey Garlic Pork. Peter was, and is, an entrepreneur; he built many different contraptions such as: his guillotine, the thing-a-majig, and of course, Pete’s (Pierre’s) Pork Products. Peter was a hard-headed, generous and kind soul. He would always help someone out if he was able to, and liked to have things done his way most of the time. Music and dancing were also a big part of his life. Peter enjoyed his many voyages, whether in his van or in the semi. He worked to provide a living for his family while he could. He drove to Yuma, Arizona, and Mexico in his camper van. He was so proud of his travels and always brought home many souvenirs. Peter is survived by his: mother of his children, Lorraine (Rick Toutant); daughter Cindy Hooper (Aaron Cherewyk); grandchildren Jessie Hooper (Shae Deptuck-Gallant); Billie-Jean Hooper; Josie Hooper, Cassidy Hooper, Barry Hooper; great grandchildren Ryder and Aisley; daughter Sandra (Russell) Mispounas, and granddaughter Samantha Guigon; son Henri Guigon and grandchildren Riley Smith, Sage Meiklejohn and Kaiden Buzit; brother Gerald (Marie-Anne), brother Leopold (Bonnie), sister Angele (Albert) Lanovaz, brother Louis (Judith), sister Jeanne (Gerry) Tait, brother Leonard (Janice) and brother Gilbert (MaryAnn).
