Obituary of Rose Humenuik
August 18, 1937 – October 29, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rose Humenuik (nee Huchkowsky) announce her passing on October 29, 2015 at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn her children; Dennis (Wendy), Marvin (June), Gloria (Leonard), Sylvia, Walter (Tanya); 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sisters-in-law Norma Huchkowski, Annette Murphy, Pauline Salahub; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her husband Mike, parents Peter and Julia Huchkowsky; son-in-law Ken Callfas; siblings Mary, Frank, Elsie, Stanley and infant sister Rosalia; and grandson Lane. Rose was born on August 18, 1937. She grew up on the family farm in the Adamiwka District and attended Scarpe School. She married Mike Humenuik in 1954 and together they had 5 children. Rose worked hard on the family farm. Her faith was very important to her, she was with the sisterhood at the Holy Spirit church for many years. Rose enjoyed life on the farm as well as being very involved in grandchildren’s lives; going to concerts, volleyball games and Ukrainian dance recitals. She also loved to cook many hearty meals and maintained a large garden which she shared with many. In 2004, Rose and Mike retired to the town of Rosthern. She enjoyed the new lifestyle, she was always on the go and always ready to help anyone who needed her. A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. The Divine Liturgy will be held Monday, November 2, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. Both services will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Mykola Romanets at Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Parish, Rosthern, SK. Interment will take place at Adamiwka Holy Spirit Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Spirit Parish or Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Box 594, Rosthern, SK S0K 3R0.
