Obituary of Agatha Epp

AGATHA EPP Agatha Epp, precious to so many, stepped into Heaven, her eternal home, on April 22, 2012 at the age of 101. Agatha was born in Southern Manitoba on November 22, 1910 to Cornelius and Agatha Wiebe. They were a close and loving family, strong in their faith in Jesus Christ. Agatha gave her heart to the Lord at an early age, and was baptized in the Mennonite Church upon confession of her faith. Agatha married Alfred Epp on June 3, 1934. They homesteaded near Capasin, SK until they moved to Laird, where they farmed, raised their family, and were faithful members of the community and the Laird Mennonite Church. Agatha was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred; two sons, Wesley & Neil; daughter-in-law, Marilyn (Neufeld) Epp; son-in-law, Erwin Dyck; grandson-in-law, Norman Jepsen; great grandchild Rebecca Gagnon; her parents; brothers, Henry, George, Cornelius, Bill, and twin brother, Jake Wiebe. Agatha is survived by her children: Dorothy Dyck, Joyce and Lloyd Thiessen, Stuart and Marjorie Epp, Steve and Leanne Epp; daughter-in-law Dianne Epp; 17 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren; her sisters Margaret Wiebe, Trudy Anderson and her brother John (Helen) Wiebe. Agatha Epp leaves a legacy of her strong faith in Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior until the end of her life on earth and she touched everyone with her love and compassion. She will be forever loved and always missed. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Laird Mennonite Church with Pastor Bruce Jantzen officiating. Interment will take place in Laird Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK (306-232-5245).
