Obituary of Archie Loewen
May 31, 1940 – March 26, 2020 It is with both joy and sadness that we announce the passing of Archie Laverne Loewen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at the age of 79. Dad will be lovingly remembered by Carolyn, his wife of 57 years, two sons: Quentin (Tammy), Stacey, and two daughters: DarcyLynne (Allan) Klippenstein, and Melanie (Don) Buzinsky, five grandchildren: Shawn (Christine) Loewen, Amy Klippenstein, Stephanie Loewen (Fiance Mike Laterza), Nicole Klippenstein, Scott Klippenstein; two sisters: Irma Love, Judy (Dennis) Ebel, one brother: Tom Loewen, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by parents, Peter and Helen Loewen; three sisters Marjorie Rempel, Doris Major, Rita Loewen, and one brother Eugene Loewen. Dad gave his heart to Christ as a teenager, baptized in 1956, and attended Millar Memorial Bible Institute, Pambrun, SK for two years. He married Carolyn Andres on November 3, 1962. Dad attended teachers’ college and taught in various schools throughout the Sask Valley area for 30 years. After retirement Dad worked as a carpenter completing various renovation projects for the Waldheim area residents until he became ill. He served on several Board of Directors over the years-for Montreal Lake Children’s Home, Western Tract Mission, and Source of Light Ministries. Dad was a strong, quiet, hardworking, unassuming person. He loved the outdoors – fishing and hunting were some of his favourite hobbies. Dad enjoyed working on odd jobs and created beautiful improvements in residential homes for customers, friends, and family. Dad enjoyed going for coffee with friends, and spending winters in Cactus Gardens, AZ in his retirement years. Dad will be deeply missed and cherished by those who knew him, but we have the assurance of meeting him again in Heaven. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Waldheim Cemetery. A private family service with Pastor John Willems officiating will be live streamed from Waldheim M.B.
