Obituary of Nick Sawatzky

January 5, 1916 – February 2, 2014 The death of Nick Sawatzky, age 98 years, formerly of Laird, SK occurred on February 2, 2014 at the Rosthern Mennonite Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his: parents, Peter and Annie Sawatzky; wife, Edna in 2001, granddaughter Ciera Sawatzky and 11 siblings. Nick is survived by his: son Lyle (Cheryl) Sawatzky; grandson Landon Sawatzky, granddaughter Jennifer Sawatzky and her children; many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Laird Mennonite Church, Laird, SK officiated by Pastor Bruce Jantzen. Interment will take place at Laird Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern (306-232-5245).
