Obituary of Raymond Fayant
April 10, 1936 – March 2, 2013 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ray at the age of 76, on March 2, 2013 in Saskatoon. Ray was born in Rosthern, SK on April 10, 1936. He was predeceased by his wife, Helene (May 2010) and his son Wayne (1985). He is survived by his children, Tina (Bruce), of Cobble Hill, B.C.; Kim (Barb), Ray (Arlene), Maureen (Dennis), Leona (Tim) all of Saskatoon; 11 grandchildren, Madison, Marissa, Baylee, Elisha, Allan, Eric, Raichelle, Jason, Cory, Helene, Frankie and 3 great grandchildren, Joshua, Kaylee, and Devlin. Dad worked for Kramer Tractor, as a heavy duty mechanic for over 40 years, until his retirement in 1993. Dad and Mom retired out at their acreage in 1994 in Batoche. Throughout Dad and Mom’s marriage they both loved camping, fishing, and hunting. Dad really enjoyed golfing as well. Dad truly missed his wife of 55 years of marriage as he always talked and reminisced about his life with Mom. Dad’s faithful companion Rocky (his dog) kept him company on the days Dad was lonely until Rocky’s passing in 2010. Dad took residency at Oliver Lodge from June 2012 until his passing. The family would like to thank the staff at Oliver Lodge and the Hemo Dialysis Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon for their care and support. The Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Odilon Roman Catholic Church, Rosthern with Rev. Cuong Luong presiding. Interment of his ashes will take place in Batoche Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK (306-232-5245, http://www.funksfuneralhome.ca).
