Obituary of Herman Hamm
October 20, 1933 – March 29, 2013 Herman Hamm of Hepburn, SK passed away on March 29, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Herman Hamm was born to his parents, Peter P. and Sara (Fehr) Hamm on October 20, 1933. He was baptized upon confession of his faith on June 7, 1954, by Bishop Abram Buhler at the Reinfeld Bergthaler Mennonite Church near Hague, SK. On July 12, 1959 he was married to Edna Nellie Penner. To this union were born eight children: Benjamin (Marg), Peter (Susanah), Sarah (Jake) Guenter, David (Helen), Martha (Isaak) Martens, Anna (Norm) Fehr, Catherine (Gerald) Wiebe, and Herman (Barb); 49 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. His first wife, Edna passed away on July 5, 1993. He remarried to Margaret Bueckert (Teichroeb) on October 15, 1995. His step-children are Jake (Rose), Anna (John) Bueckert, Margaret (Dave) Wollf, Lena (deceased), George (Carol), Ben (Gloria) and Susie (Jake) Hamm, Peter (Susan), 38 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2013. He was admitted to Rosthern Hospital on March 1, 2013. He passed away peacefully on March 29, 2013. He reached the age of 79 years, 5 months and 9 days. He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, Isaak and one brother-in-law Henry Martens. He is survived by his loving wife and children, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, 3 brothers-in-law and 7 sisters-in-law. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Rosthern Hospital that treated him so well. We would also like to thank everyone for all their prayers and support. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. officiated by Rev. Philip Froese at the Sommerfelder Church, east of Hague, SK on Hague ferry road.
