I will miss my Grandma dearly but man what a legacy she lived! So many of us grandkids and great-grandkids will never forget what an amazing woman that she was.
*One of my youngest memories at the farm in Canada, my grandma had 2ft wires fixed with a magnet at the end and my sister and I were sent out to drag them along the dirt road to find rusty old nails. Each nail was worth a penny. It was a competition between my sis and I on who could find the most nails. Little did I know that this was to prevent the tractor tires from popping, lol. Clever little lady and kept us Cali girls busy!
And her magnificent garden!!! The memories of picking berries, carrots, apples, cherries, potatoes...Snapping the green beans, that we just helped pick, in the farmhouse kitchen to cook for dinner! So many things that she taught me that no ordinary Californian girl was taught. I will miss this legend of a woman dearly. May she always be looking down on me and Jacob with pride.
To my dearest Grandmere, I will always remember to..
"put on a sweater" even when it's warm, (like California warm,) to never wear white socks at the farm, or to always watch how much sugar I put in the waffle cookie recipe. You are the "Master" to Duck Lake Rummy and will forever be the best. The memories that I have of you will always be cemented in my heart. What an amazing woman you were!
