Obituary of Anne Giesbrecht
April 10, 1934 – January 22, 2014 Anne Giesbrecht was born on April 10, 1934 at Rush Lake, Saskatchewan to George and Katherina Giesbrecht. Anne was diagnosed with cancer in June, 2011. Anne passed away peacefully at Rosthern Hospital on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 with her family by her side. She is survived by her: sisters, Mary Schellenberg, Susan Grant and sister-in-law Yvonne Giesbrecht and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by the love of her life, Albert Kiehl, her parents George and Katherina Giesbrecht; siblings George and Tyra Giesbrecht, Jacob and Geraldine Giesbrecht, Neil Giesbrecht, and brother-in-law John Schellenberg. Anne spent most of her life living and working in Toronto, Ontario. She worked as a broker for 25 years at Harold J. Mitchell Insurance Ltd. When Albert passed away on December 28, 1980, Anne decided to move to Waldheim, Saskatchewan to be closer to her mother and her sister Mary. Anne lived at the Westview Pioneer Lodge until her passing. Family and friends meant a lot to Anne. She loved music and enjoyed singing especially hymns. She loved craft work and was very good at it. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at the Waldheim Mennonite Brethren Church. Lunch will immediately follow the service. Burial of her ashes will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank all the people in Anne’s life and especially the staff at the Rosthern Hospital for their wonderful care and kindness.
