Obituary of Aaron Friesen

February 27, 1937 - August 31, 2021 84 Years It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather Aaron J. Friesen on Aug 31, 2021. Aaron was born to Jacob and Helena Friesen on Feb 27, 1937 in Hague Saskatchewan. He grew up on a mixed farm near Hague where he met the love of his life. He married Verna Wagner on Aug 5, 1956. In 1957 they purchased a farm near Rosthern, Saskatchewan. Together they operated a mixed farm (dairy and grain) which grew quickly. It didn’t take long before he had four daughters to assist in the farm chores. In 1979 the dairy was sold, but he continued to expand his land base and farmed until 2010 when they moved into Rosthern. Aaron was passionate about farming, flying, and the community. Little gave him more pleasure than providing rides in the airplane to view the land from above. He was very generous and always willing to help anyone in need. Above all he loved God, his wife Verna and his family. Aaron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Verna, and daughters: Judy Thue (Kelly) and their children Jena, Chase (Deanna), Sorren (Tia), and Kody; Elaine Riekman (Glenn) and their children Adam, (Brittney), Nicole Lock (Sam) and Brett; Dianne (Ben) Janzen and their children Chad, Wade Monks-Janzen (Wendy), Cloie Desroches (Tyler); Gail Grobe and her children Elan, Nate, Dion as well as eleven great grandchildren and a large network of extended family and friends. Aaron is predeceased by his parents Jacob and Helena Friesen, and his sister Justina Derksen. Donations in memory of Aaron can be sent to Generation Rising (link on left hand side of page) or a charity of your choice.
