Please share a memory of Philip to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
November 29, 1967 - July 30, 2022
54 Years
In 1967, Philip M. Friesen was welcomed into this world by his parents Reverend John G. and Nettie Friesen. Phil grew up with his 11 siblings in Vanscoy, SK, until 1980 when the family moved to Rheinland.
He was baptized upon the confession of his faith on June 7, 1992. Later that year, on August 15th, Phil and Marge were married. They went on to live near Hague for 7 years while Phil worked at ASL paving. In 1999, they moved their growing family to a farm east of Rosthern. Phil worked with a couple different companies while working at home to build the family farm.
In his spare time, Phil was always fishing, or at least planning to. Rain or shine he was always trying to out fish everyone around him.
In June of 2020, Philip was diagnosed with brain cancer and proceeded to receive surgery and chemo treatment. In January of 2021, his cancer returned, and he continued to live out his life through faith with his beloved wife Margaret. On July 30, 2022, the Lord ended all his sufferings and called him home.
He is survived by his: wife, Margaret (Hamm); children, Crystal, Logan (Sarah), Timothy (Megan), Kaleb, Kendra, Nikolas; 8 grandchildren; siblings; Martha, MaryAnn, Kathy, Ben, (Neil) Hank, Paul, Dick, Helena, Anita, Ruth, and their spouses; sister-in-law Sharon Friesen; and many nephews, and nieces.
Phil is predeceased by his: parents John G, and Nettie Friesen; brother Neil Friesen; brother in-law Abe Hamm; and mother-in-law Sarah Hamm.
