Karen & Barry, Morgan, Gavin and extended family- May God hold you in the palm of His hand abd comfort your heart as only He can. Joshua was one amazing guy! Lydia shared a memory of Josh stepping in to comfort her and teach her how to use a slingshot when others were laughing at her. She said, "He was a good big brother." A brother from another family, Josh will be greatly missed. He was kind-hearted and a blessing to those he met. Our hearts go out to you. We lift you up in our prayers. ~The Manly's (Scott & Amy, Nathan, Jacob, and Lydia)

I came to Lakeland in the fall of 2022, but knew Josh before then as I attended a few roughstock practices. He quickly became one of the people I enjoyed being around, whether it was to rope the dummy, mess around at rope and roughstock practise with, or just go to his dorm for a nice visit. He invited me over one afternoon for some home made biscuits that he had made in his cast iron pan and raspberry jam. By far some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had! I remember one time I had complained about my pole bending horse not really having any desire to run home, and wouldn’t you know it next time Josh saw me he had an over and under whip he had made me from an old rope he had. He was the most giving and helpful person I have ever met, and his generosity is something I will never forget.

Having parents that were really close growing up, Josh and I became automatic childhood besties. I fondly remember many birthday parties, recess at school, farm visits, play dates, that would consist of Josh and I becoming the best little buddies around. Josh was always someone you could depend on and trust. His grin was infectious to everyone around him.
The picture attached is a fond memory I have of Josh and I’s growing up years. Many many hours were spent playing everything farm related. Josh will be dearly missed.

We are heart broken for you all.
We are so very sorry for the loss of your sweet boy.
We always loved visiting with Josh whenever we would see him.
Every time we took him along on road trips to and from hockey he was never afraid to talk with us and he made those drives very entertaining!
Josh was always respectful, kind and treated everyone like a friend.
He will be missed.

Our family spent so many Sabbath afternoons together with yours. We will miss Josh terribly. He was funny, kind-hearted, helpful, and so passionate about ranching and the cowboy life. I remember how he would light up talking about cowpoking and rodeo... he even managed to convince Connor to climb on the back of a steer one afternoon, which tells you a lot about Josh's sense of humor and Connor's naivety. Josh had the most beautiful, deep voice, and I don't remember ever hearing him raise it in anger. He knew how to get under the skin of his siblings... as all good brothers do... and I used to laugh when he would purposely antagonize them or his friends, wearing a mischievous grin that grew at the same rate as their frustration. When I close my eyes, it is his huge smile that I see and his warm voice that I hear. We are heart broken over the loss of your gentle, wonderful son, and we cannot wait for the day to sit down with him again at heaven's banquet table. What a day that will be!
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever." Revelations 21: 4

We got to know Josh while he was attending Lakeland College in Vermilion. He was always eager and enthusiastic to come help with ranch work. In this photo, Josh was helping sort cattle at our community pasture. He had a great desire to learn and always had lots of questions. He was a kind, polite young man and we enjoyed him very much.

We first met Josh at Lakeland College after the Little Royal Rodeo in 2022, where they did a tribute for our son who passed away earlier that year. We invited Brandon’s friends out to dinner with us so we could thank them for all they did while he was there. When my husband first seen Josh, he gave him the nickname Tiny. Of course Josh laughed because he was the biggest guy at the table. Ever since that day he was known as Tiny. Josh also came and stayed with our family over Easter weekend this year. He helped out fixing up the rodeo grounds, he amazed everyone when he took on any job and could pound an eight foot post by himself with the big hand pounder. When the kids came to visit they were medicine to us and our house. They brought laughter and helped fill the whole in our hearts. Josh was like part of our family and he will be forever missed.

Listening to his stories and him listening to mine, knowing we shared the same love for the things we both did. I’ll be forever thankful for the friendship we had. We met Josh this summer when we went to the farm to pick up a few things and he was so sweet❤️ He visited with Kloe and I and took the time to catch his 2 horses that he was so proud of and “nerded out” as he put it telling us all about them. He was so calm and gentle with those horses, Kloe was so grateful that he spent the time to talk to her all about them❤️

Josh was always bring his roping equipment to school so he could practice during the lunch hour. He even took on the challenge of teaching me how to do so which I’m pretty sure he got a good laugh in because it’s a lot harder then he made it look. Josh also allowed me to come out to the farm to see the new twin calves which he did not have to but he was the type of person to volunteer his time and help make other people smile.
