Obituary of Josh Lehmann

February 25, 2003 - October 2, 2023

Joshua Rueben Lehmann was born on February 25, 2003, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He passed away on October 2, 2023 near Duck Lake, Saskatchewan. He spent his early years living in Rosthern before moving out to Saskvalley Stock Farm, where he belonged. After graduating from Rosthern High School in 2021, he completed a Diploma in Animal Science Technology, Majoring in Beef Science at Lakeland College (Vermillion, AB) in 2023.

 

Josh was deeply loved by everyone that knew him, old and young, big and small. Growing up, he loved to play hockey on the home rink and in town as a formidable player with the Rosthern Wheat Kings. He enjoyed music, played the guitar, and had a beautiful singing voice. He spent many hours outdoors to pursue his hunting and fishing interests. Most notably, Josh was passionate about ranching, roping, and riding. He gave his heart to God and was baptized when he was ten years old. As a young adult, he always said the place he felt closest to God was on the back of a horse. He loved a good story, especially if it was about a job that ended up being a little more exciting than it should have been. If you ever got a chance to talk to Josh, you may not have even understood him because he spoke a whole different language.

 

Josh’s passions led him to find new friends and opportunities at Lakeland where he joined the Rodeo Team. He was known to be a genuine teammate and a great help in and out of the arena. After his first year on the team, he received the Sportsmanship Scholarship and Rodeo Club Member of the Year Award.

 

He is survived by his parents, Barry and Karen Lehmann; siblings, Morgan and Gavin Lehmann; grandparents, Wes Lehmann, Rueben and Elaine Grinde; uncles and aunts, Carl (Michelle) Lehmann, Murray (Cathy) Lehmann, Heather (Barry Hyde) Lehmann, Kent (Ruth) Grinde, and Travis (Jessica Johnson) Grinde; and first cousins, Emma Lehmann, Brittany Lehmann Scherr, and Riley Lehmann. He was predeceased by his grandmother Marjorie Lehmann.

 

Josh was a protector, a storyteller, and the best guy to have in your corner. He will be forever missed and always loved.

Immediately following the service, interment will take place

at the Lehmann Family cemetery. Those not attending

the interment, can start the fellowship lunch at the

Community Multi-purpose Centre, 2001 3^rd Street, Rosthern, SK.

 

Josh was always a person who offered support to others.
